Amritsar :
Immersed in history, the city of Amritsar is one of the largest in Punjab. Mainly known for housing the Golden temple, originally named Harmandir Sahib, the city is historically rich. Being the center of several pre-independence revolutions, this city has the infamous Jalianwala Bagh to offer.

While Harmandir Sahib is the center of spirituality for Sikh religion, it also is the home of Sikh political outfit, known as Akal Takht and the Sikh Parliament. Golden temple is a popular tourist destination with visitor’s numbers often crossing 10, 00,000 in a week. Jalianwala Bagh is known for the massacre occurred in 1919 on Baisakhi Day, where General Dyer of British military, ordered killing of over 1000 people in the closed confines of the Bagh.

 Wagah Border :
Amritsar is located just 28 kilometers away from the Indo-Pak Wagah border. Wagah border is principally known for the ostentatious Wagah border ceremony where soldiers from India and Pakistan parade that ends up in perfectly co-ordinated lowering of national flags. The hair-raising precision of the soldiers is a scene to cherish for whole life.

Kurukshetra :
This is the land where the war of Mahabharata is said to be fought. The land boasts of the very location where Bhagwad Gita was preached by Lord Krishna to his disciple Arjuna. This place works as a magnet for religious tourists with plenty of temples, Ashrams and religious places which were often referenced to in Indian mythology. Apart from the religious penchants of tourists, this town also is famous for its beautiful gardens, lakes, wildlife sanctuaries and museums. Evidence says that King Ashoka populated this place swarming with people from all the nations for its knowledge and culture.
